Leybourne Grange

PROJECT BRIEF

Full retaining scaffold to Manor House, requiring very detailed and complex buttressing/double width scaffold. Additional scaffolding for Clocktower, Caretakers Cottage, Library and ancillary one, two and three storey buildings.

OVERVIEW

Masons were employed by Taylor Wimpey and Sloane Demolition to provide full retaining scaffold and temporary roof during the demolition of the internal walls, floors and roof of the Manor House at Leybourne Grange. This ongoing project, due for completion in 2021 also included additional works to the Clocktower and Caretakers Cottage, along with the library and ancillary buildings. There are considerable challenges with such an old building. Steeped in history, The Manor House at Leybourne Grange dates back to before 1724 and when work started it was found to be in a much worse condition than originally anticipated.

Throughout the project, the scaffold element of the works have been continuously increased to obtain sufficient calculations. Masons have been onsite since June 2017 working closely with the temporary works engineer to advise on the best ways to progress the scaffold works.
